Two days ago, it was oppressively hot and humid here in Bologna; I wanted to die. Today it is downright chilly. I would be celebrating, except all of our warm clothes are in Riccardo’s basement. Blast.

We just lost the apartment we originally made a proposal for, but we’re rather glad we did. We saw another apartment this afternoon that is FANTASTIC, and if we don’t see anything we like better tomorrow we will make a proposal there. Will not describe it because have fingers crossed too hard.

So we found an apartment, but two problems:
a) The proprietaria hasn’t accepted our proposal yet – and it’s been a whole day. We’re beginning to think that she’s reluctant to accept foreigners, being transient and unlikely to stay for more than a year. And, let’s face it, there’s a certain amount of wariness for foreigners [...]
